1 September 2007 saw the full implementation of the United Kingdom Gambling Act 2005.
The Act established a new regulatory framework for all forms of betting and gaming conducted in the United Kingdom and charged the Gambling Commission with overall control for enforcement. The Act introduced three licensing objectives and has running through it the theme of responsible gambling.
The three licensing objectives focus on keeping the gambling industry crime free, ensuring that gambling is conducted in a fair and open way and protecting children and other vulnerable persons from being harmed or exploited by gambling.
The Gala Coral Group is proud to embrace the new regulatory regime and works closely with the Gambling Commission to ensure compliance with the Act.
We also have gambling operations based in Italy and have acquired licences to operate from the Italian authorities. We continue to explore the possibilities of operating in other markets around the world and also ensure that we comply with all applicable legislation and regulatory requirements.
