Gala Bingo has announced its withdrawal from the National Game, which will take effect from 31 August 2008. The move will see Gala Bingo focus on its hugely popular Gala High 5 game in order to offer customers more value through better games and prizes.
Gala High 5 launched last year, as a direct result of the new Gambling Act which allowed bingo operators to run a rollover jackpot. It is a unique offering in the industry whereby jackpots are shared between club members. To date, 1680 customers have won a total of nearly £5.25 million.
Before taking the decision to withdraw from the National Game, Gala Bingo conducted trials across 23 clubs in the North West, gauging the opinions of both customers and club managers.
Simon Longbottom, Managing Director of Gala Bingo, said "The National Game has been part of the overall offering in our clubs for many years, however it is vital we listen to what our customers want and adapt to their needs.
“Since its launch, Gala High 5 has proved very popular, delivering better value for our customers and more opportunities to win. We are committed to providing the best service to our customers across our estate - that is what this decision is all about".
